It is hard to believe that Josh had never done any formal gundog work before coming to Wales as he is a natural born retriever and has taken to it like a duck to water

After 1 year in the show ring and Top Male Chesapeake for the year, I retired him to become a full time working dog

Imported into the UK in the summer of 2016 Josh brings in a lot of new bloodlines, keeping the same type and temperament that Penrose dogs are renowned for

Josh made history by being the first American import to become a British Champion, gaining 3 Challenge Certificates and 1 Reserve CC at his first 4 shows and all in one month.

He won 7 CC's and 1 RCC in 12 months.

We have been looking for many years for a dog like Josh. To find a dog of his outstanding quality and excellent coat with good teeth, two testicles, all his health clearances and a temperament to die for is almost impossible

Only with the help, honesty, devotion and generosity of Josh’s breeder Laura Chambers, Longmeadow Chesapeakes, USA have we been able to bring him to the UK

Only used at stud occasionally and selectively he has produced champions and many excellent, good looking working dogs and show winners - one of his daughters winning a BIS

He has sired champions in America, the UK and Europe, he has also sired dock diving champions, water rescue dogs and tracking dogs
